Friends- Chapter Nine

Friends- Chapter Nine

Chyta has an unwanted haircut

Huh?"  Alla asked confusedly.
There was a creature in the brush!  She was another flying lioness.  She still had a tassel on her tail.
She was a mild, deep green, with bobbed dark yellow hair.  She was utterly befuddled, judging from the look on her face.
"Th- Thinacy?" she stuttered.
Her voice was high and a bit squeaky, like a chipmunk's, and it was definitely a girl's voice,  but it had hints of a strong personality.
She had a slightly English accent, (sound demonstration:  She hod a sloightlee Ayenglish ohccent) and altogether, her voice sounded  very interesting.
It took Chyta and Kimcy a while to realize that "Delevine" was not a word, exclamation, curse or thing, but the name of the lioness!
Kim and Alla obviously hadn't caught the idea yet.  Their mouths were still hanging open like a loose cupboard door.
"Delevine's my cousin," explained Thinacy.
Just then, they heard a noise behind them in the trees.  "Oh yay," said Kimcy miserably.  "More... fun."
"Huh?"  Asked Delevine, confused.
A fox with a wide grin and flashing white teeth stepped out.  He also  had dual samurai swords strapped to his back.  "Hello ladies and isn't this your lucky day?  You've stumbled upon Sleazo the gift to womankind!"
"Um?"  said Thinacy.  He turned to her and Kimcy.  His eyes narrowed, his wide grin turning malicious.  "Oh I know you two!  The trespassers!"
"Uh oh..." said Kimcy slowly.  "Are-you-the-fox-whose-cave-we-slept-in-and-roast-we-ate?"
"Right on!"  he said coldly, advancing towards them.  "And do you remember I said I would get revenge?"
"Um..." said Chyta.  "There is such a thing as punctuation, you know."
"Puncture what?" said Thinacy.
"Oh the gray lioness is merely remarking on my handsomeness," said Sleazo.
"NO I AM NOT!"  roared Chyta.  "I am saying, that you can pause, when, you, speak, like, this!!!  It saves a LOT of breath."
"Anyway..." continued Sleazo, still advancing Kimcy and Thinacy.  "Time to die silly lioness things."
"Oh no you don't," said Chyta.   "No you do NOT!"  Sleazo still advanced, smiling evilly.  "Goodbye evil devil lioness things."  and with that he threw both of his swords.  They both missed.  He bounded over, retrieving them, before Chyta got to them.  He threw one at her.  Luckily, he was a terrible thrower.  It did not kill Chyta, but did, however, cut her hair very short, like Delevine and Thinacy's.
"OKAY, THAT'S IT!"  shrieked Chyta, leaping on top of Sleazo, who was about to throw a knife at Thinacy.
"No one- chops- my- hair- like- that!"  she said, punctuating each word with a blow.  And since there is no defeating an angry lioness in battle, Sleazo slunk off.
"We will meet again devils," he snarled.
Everyone slowly turned to Chyta, including Delevine.
"Um..." said Alla.  "That was... odd."
"Compared to Tzelly and the Freak Superstore, that was NOTHING," muttered Chyta.
Delevine's mouth slowly dropped open.  "That... was.. AWESOME!"

Friends- Chapter Eight

 Chapter 8
Thinacy receives an obnoxious letter

"I never, ever, EVER want to do something like that again,"  gasped Thinacy, out of breath.

"How could a simple grenade explode that spooky superstore?" Chyta asked a red-faced Thinnalla, panting and leaning on a tree.
"It was from the 'Scariest Additions' section," Thinnalla answered shortly, in a no-nonsense tone.  "It was a 'Nuclear Grenade'.  The 'buy me!' note on the bottom of the stock rack said, 'surprise your enemies with this "grenade", it will do more harm then they think!' "
"Well, that makes sense," breathed Chyta.
"Well, after you're all done explaining," said Kimcy, "I, for one, think that Kimmie and Thinnalla take too much time and meaningless syllables to say.  And they don't really even sound like names.  What can we call them for short?"
"I think 'Kim' might be just right for Kimmie, " Chyta began, "but, on Thinnalla's part, I don't think anyone would like to be named 'Thin.'  Or 'Fat,' for that matter!"
Thinnalla nodded fiercely.
"Then how about 'Alla'?" Thinacy suggested plaintively.
"That sounds a lot better than 'Thin'," Thinnalla said appreciatively.
  Suddenly, everyone began to laugh.
"Kim and Alla, welcome to the group!" chortled Chyta amid giggles from the others.
Just then, a large, creamy brown envelope fell down.  It had no return address, no postage, no phone number or zip code, but only, in thick black ink, scrawling letters which said:  For Miss Thinacy Cobalt.
"Huh?" said Chyta, cocking her head and lifting an eyebrow.
Kimcy took action, grabbing the envelope and reading the cursive writing with more comprehension than Chyta's old friend Belize, and shoving the letter into Thinacy's paws.
"It's for you,"  she said.
"I've never received mail before, maybe it says something else," said Thinacy, but she curiously opened it nonetheless.
A high-pitched scream, rather musical, emitted from the letter almost immediately.
Words could be discerned through the shrieking:
MISS COBALT LOOK IN THE BUSHES BEHIND YOU AT APPROXIMATELY 12:00 IN THE EVENING TOMORROW THANK YOU
YOU WILL FIND A SURPRISING SURPRISE THERE THAT YOU UNDOUBTEDLY NEED AND HAVE BEEN MISSING YOU'RE WELCOME and it repeated on and on.
It became very monotonous.
Fortunately, it shut up when they rolled out their sleeping bags that Kim and Alla had conjured with their magic wands.
But it woke them up at 6:00 sharp, reminding them about Thinacy's "surprising surprise".
At twelve in the afternoon they stopped.  The letter stopped screaming in the middle of it's "approximately".  Thinacy looked behind her.
Sure enough, there was something moving in the bushes.
Thinacy walked bravely up to the bushes and peered inside.
"Delevine!"  She suddenly shrieked.

Friends- Chapter seven

Chapter 7

They shop at the store of doom

"Okay, that was scary,"  admitted Chyta.
Thinacy was shivering harder than a naked mole rat outside in a  December blizzard, and Kimcy was still huffing shakily.
"A-a-alright, everybody," said Kimcy, rather quietly, "I know a clearing not far from here we can go to.  It's kind of like a forest oasis."
 "O-okay," Chyta and Thinacy agreed.
They started walking in the direction Kimcy pointed.
Ugh, thought Thinacy.  Oh how in the SunArmonian world did I get myself into this?
Kimcy's thoughts were:   By the Lady Lamina, why oh why didn't I go home when I had the chance?
Chyta thought, Princess Gninthghil!   (Nin-thil)   WHAT is wrong with me?  Oh, those loony, raving idiots, falling in my birthday cake!
"I don't know about you, but personally I've had enough adventures for once!"  claimed Thinacy.
"Then go home!" suggested Chyta.
"I don't have one to go to anymore," said Thinacy softly.
"Oh."  Chyta was silent for the rest of the walk.
They reached a large bunch of trees.  "In here," said Kimcy.
In they went and...
"By the Princess Ria."  Chyta had never cursed before, but now seemed the perfect time to do it.
 Thinacy was speechless.
"This is your clearing?"  Chyta asked Kimcy, angrily.
"What happened?" Kimcy whispered, horrified.
It was not a clearing at all, but a LARGE HUMAN BUILDING!
They all dropped to the ground, stealthily.
The ground was dry and barren.  Smoke filled the air, as did the horrible stench of human.
Chyta shuddered.
Thinacy took one sniff and wrinkled her nose.  "Why'd you take us here, for Paradise's sake?"
Kimcy spoke in a hushed voice.  "This was where I lived, when I ran away from home... it was a beautiful oasis, blessed by Lady Rewolf and Lamina.  Who could have done such a thing, without getting cursed?"
Suddenly, an eerie song filled the air.
Thinacy stood up, her pupils growing wider and wider.  Her body turned more rigid, an unnatural smile coming on to her face and staying there.
"No!  Don't listen to it!" exclaimed Chyta through gritted teeth.  Chyta put her paws over her ears, Kimcy following pursuit.
"Why not? What's wrong with a little... music?"said Thinacy.
Her voice had an un-Thinacy-ish twang to it.  It was almost like 3 Thinacies were talking at once.  She sounded more... ROBOT than human.
Kimcy took her paws off of her ears for a few seconds, stood up, and followed the how-Thinacy-turned-robotic procession: the pupils, the rigid body, the smile, the denial, the voice tripling.
It was all Chyta could do not to fall prey.
Then Chyta had an inspiration.  She army-crawled over to Thinacy's 'magic bag', searched for a while, and, finally, found a bit of spare paper.
She whispered a spell to it-  "Don't let any evil music take its heed on me."
"Evil supermarket," Chyta muttered.  "What next?"
She made earplugs out of it, stuck them in her ears, and pretended to succumb to the power.
The music stopped.  A voice as freaky as the music came on the loudspeaker on the outside of the store.
It was a HUMAN girl's voice.
"Come in," it said slowly, eagerly.
Chyta's friends walked jerkily towards the store.  Chyta followed suit.
Inside, at the front desk, sat 3 HUMAN women.
One was a Caucasian blonde with a hot pink dress, and two of the women were African-American, with long black hair, dark skin, and electric blue dresses, and were younger, about 16 years younger.
Chyta would notice later that the elder had pointed, if not yellow, teeth.
"My name is Chyarata, but call me Chy," said the blonde in the same eerie voice as came from the speaker.
"Hello Chy," Thinacy and Kimcy said, one after the other.
 Chyta copied.  "Hello Chy."
"And this is Kimmie, and Thinnalla," said Chyarata, nodding to the African-Americans in turn.
Kimmie and Thinnalla each said, "Hi," in turn, when they were nodded to
Chyta noticed that while Kimmie and Thinnalla talked in the same voice as Kimcy and Thinacy,  Chy's voice sounded creepy and free talking as you please.
Maybe Chy had them under her spell, too?
Chyta shivered at the thought.
"Now, may I help you three young ladies?"  Chy leaned across the desk.  "Thinacy, Kimcy, and Chyta, wasn't it?"  She spoke with a French accent, pronouncing Chyta's name Shyta.
"We'd like to see some of the lovely objects..."  Thinacy began.
"...that you have for sale here," Kimcy finished.
"Please,"  added Chyta.
"Well well," sneered Chy, getting up from her swivel chair.
Chyta could see that, evidently, things were going Chy's way.
"Stay here, girls," she said confidently to Kimmie and Thinnalla.
"Yes Madame Chyarata,"  they said, and Chyta sensed a bit of fear and uncertainty in them.
She gave them a passing wink as she walked by, throwing them some paper earplugs.
They looked at the earplugs, and then at Chyta.
"Put them on," she whispered.
They put them on, and Chyta could see the spell go off them.
They waved their thanks to Chyta's back.
Chyta smiled, and walked quicker to catch up to Chy and the others.
"We'll start from the top and work our way down, I think," said Chy gleefully.
They got to the elevator.   They went in and Chy pushed the 5th Floor button.
Thinacy was reading a paper brochure that Chy had given her.
She was currently looking at the
ON THE FLOORS... page.
It said...

5th Floor

Potions and Poisons

4th Floor

Swords and  Spears

3rd Floor

Shields and Armor

2nd Floor

Bombs and Battle axes

1st Floor

Cannons and Magic

Ground Floor

Front desk, Scariest Additions* and Arena

*Note:  Scariest additions have three weeks until moved to their normal categories.  Any special requests ask Chyarata, front desk.

That was all that Chyta  read before Thinacy shooed her away.
"O-okay,"  muttered Chyta.  "Definitely the evil supermarket."
Chyta tried to look as if she didn't know anything, but it was VERY hard.
Theoretical explanations ran through her mind, each as silly as the last.
Fake brochure?  Magical trick?  Just a dream?  If it is, it's probably a nightmare.  Too sleepy to understand?  Eyes playing trick on me? Could I be reading it wrong?  How did I read it in the first place?  I can't read!  Can I?
Little did Chyta know, she could very well read, surpassing her own self-expectations.
And this is important later.
The music was playing on the speakers.
By some even stranger power, Thinacy and Kimcy were showing even more severe signs of dislike such as  moving farther and farther away from each other on the elevator until they got to the top floor.
"Chy is building on their old grudges," guessed Chyta.
She would never have imagined this, but
Thinacy and Kimcy were actually buying things!
To destroy each other, Chyta guessed.
On the 5th floor, Thinacy bought a logic potion that would make anyone believe what the one who drank it said, and Kimcy bought an orange-grey potion that would make a person afraid of any particular thing they were thinking of at the moment.
On the 4th floor, Thinacy bought a bronze sword, and Kimcy a spear that you could light on fire.
On the 3rd floor, Thinacy bought a silver shield, and Kimcy a set of armor.
On the 2nd floor, Thinacy bought a hand grenade, and  Kimcy a huge battle axe called 'The Striker'.
On the 1st floor,  Thinacy bought an Antimatter Cannon, and Kimcy a disappearing spell.
On the Ground floor, Thinacy bought a flamethrower, and Kimcy a poisoned dagger.
And worse, they asked Chy for advice!
Chyta tried to to follow pursuit, but she just couldn't bring herself to buy anything from this store of doom.
Thinacy and Kimcy started heading for the arena.
Chyta had no choice but to follow.
"I'm going to have to watch my best friends kill each other," she gulped.
On the arena, Thinacy brought out her shield and sword.  Kimcy brought out her armor and spear.
Chyta stepped into the middle of the arena, laying aside the temporary hazards of what she was doing.
"Wait!" she called frantically, eyes flitting from Chy to her friends, to Chy again.  "You're my friends!  You're friends with each other!"
She turned to Kimcy.
"Why do you think the unicorn turned you into a lioness?  To kill your friend?  One who saved you countless times?"
Chyta didn't know where the words came from, or how she knew them, but they poured out nonetheless.
"What does it matter if she's ruined your plans or been obnoxious, or argued?  Don't all friends?  She's still your friend as much as I, and I know that the real Kimcy would never do such a thing!"
 Then she whirled on Thinacy.
"Thinacy!  What are you doing!  It's not like you have to fight!  Why do you think you found Kimcy?  To kill her?  The same who protected you from certain death?  What does it matter if she acts like a know-it-all or misunderstands you, or bosses you around sometimes?  Don't all friends?  She's still you're friend as much as I, and I know the real Thinacy in there would never do this!"
Thinacy and Kimcy looked befuddled for a moment, but perhaps that was only side affects of Chy's being dumbfounded.
Chyta was about to yell in triumph when two soft, unfamiliar voices behind her whispered:
"Shh, not yet."
It was Kimmie and Thinnalla, the two African-Americans.
"We're going to sneak up on her, can you cause a distraction?"  whispered Kimmie.
Chyta nodded joyfully.
They snuck out of the room, probably to help themselves to Chy's weapons.
Chy recovered at the same time.
She regained her usual plaque-caked smile.
"Nice try, Chyta, but I think you're just going to have to sit back and enjoy the show!"  Her accent was stronger than usual.
She said:  "Roperio!" and shot magical pink ropes out of a wand from the 1st floor, and they attempted to tie up Chyta, but Thinacy jumped in front of her and ate them.
"Tastes like chicken,"  she remarked, her mouth full.
Kimcy laughed, Chyta echoed.
Chy screamed in rage, advancing on them and trapping them in a corner.  She raised her wand, but before she could do anything, Kimmie and Thinnalla burst in with wands, guns, bombs and poisons.
"DISIARMIA!" they shouted, and Chy's wand flew out of her hands.

Chy attempted to grab it back, but Kimmie shot it out of the air with an AK-47, and it crumpled into a heap of useless melted metal.
If Chy's scream was horrible when Thinacy ate the ropes, this was 100% worse
"Traitors!" she yelped.
"Not so."  Thinnalla shook her head.  "You are the WORST AUNT EVER!"
She threw a paralyzing potion at Chy, and Chy was... well, paralyzed.
"Quick, out!" hissed Kimmie, ushering them out the front door.  "C'mon, Thinnalla!"
"Coming!" Thinnalla yelped.  She jumped out the door, throwing a grenade behind her.
3...2...1... and EXPLOSION!

Friends- Chapter six

Chapter 6
Dinner goes bad

Well, then,"  said Chyta in her fake cheerful tone,  "About dinner?  It's dark out, with a lovely moon, I think we can risk it!"
"It feels like I haven't eaten for years!"
"I'm famished!"
 Thinacy and Kimcy agreed happily.
"Well then, how about..."  Chyta's eyes fell on a paw-made chicken coop no more than 3 feet away from them.
"...chicken?"
"Alright!"
"That sounds delicious!  But where will you get it?"  Thinacy queried, cheerfully.
Chyta pointed towards the chicken coop.
Thinacy backed away.  "Wouldn't that be, like, stealing?" She asked anxiously.
Chyta reflected for a moment.  She hadn't thought if it that way before!
"It doesn't look like anybody's home,"  she answered finally.  "C'mon!"
Half an hour later...
"Boy. oh boy, did we catch a chicken!"  hooted Kimcy triumphantly, looking at Chyta expectantly, as if for attention.
"Yeah,"  said Thinacy half-heartedly, after returning with Kimcy.  "Something bad is going to happen,"  she predicted.  "I just know it!"
"Oh, what do you know," Kimcy said rudely, hardly noticing what she was saying.
"Well, I won't say 'I told you so,' " said Thinacy with an air of supreme generosity.
Kimcy looked at Chyta, her eyes begging for praise and attention, like a dog's.  "Can't you see just how annoying that little creep is?"  Kimcy said in an exasperated tone.
"Look, can't we just eat now?" chorused Chyta and Thinacy.
Just then they heard some commotion coming from the chicken coop.
They jumped in a bush, frightened.
A strangely womanly voice rang out.
"Here now, where's Penny...  no, now where is it... oh nice eggs, Betty, now... yes, now those are her paw-prints... now... no, not there... nor there, now... but where then?... ah now, there it is...  there they are now..."
"This 'woman' gives me the creeps,"  whispered Thinacy.
"She sure uses a lot of nows, doesn't she?"  Chyta shuddered.
"Do I know her!"  wondered Kimcy.  "I guess Penny's the chicken we killed..."
"Where is it?" Chyta asked quietly.
"Ah, now there's a good chicken... now, where did I put that... now, it wasn't there, no... do they got it?... no, now, I can't say that, now... well, now... you don't say, now, don't you... oh there it is, now, you naughty chicken..  AHA, now!"
The whatever-it-was turned toward them, sniffing, and found their bush, accident or not, and said, "Kimcy, I know you, now, and I know you're there!"
"WHAT?"  Kimcy whispered in here loudest whisper.  "But it CAN'T be- Tzelly!
"You've told me about her...  wait!  Isn't she your MOM?"  Wow...  Thinacy trailed off, in her most shocked tone.
Chyta was too amazed to say anything.
"MOM!"  Kimcy jumped out of the bushes into a young, beautiful, pure white she-wolf's arms.
"Will you come home now, Kimcy?"  Tzelly asked soothingly
Kimcy withdrew from Tzelly's outstretched arms.  "No," she said.
"Now, Kimcy,"  said Tzelly insistently.
"NO," said Kimcy firmly.  "I've made my decision.  This is my destiny.  I will not become a wolf again."
"Now, fine then," snarled Tzelly.  "I thought you'd come home peacefully, now.  You have chosen force!"
She didn't much look like a threat- that is, until she pulled out a big gun.
"I brought this babe just in case," she growled threateningly.  She pronounced it "Bay-beh."
Thinacy gulped, and Kimcy hid behind Chyta.
"I am resisting the urge to say 'I told you so,' " whispered Thinacy.
"Now, this is my Time-pass gun," Tzelly sneered.  "I can switch it to Time-Go-Slow mode, or Time-Go-Fast mode, now.
"Time-Go-Slow makes you move so slow, that to move one mile would take a running cheetah 3 days, now!  Time-Go-Fast mode makes Time go so fast, now, that before you've gone three steps, you're an old creature!"
Kimcy turned almost as white as Tzelly, and Thinacy turned a blue paler than pale.
"Now Kimcy, I think I'll shoot you with Time-Go-Slow."  Tzelly revved up her gun.  But just when it shot, and Kimcy thought she was a goner, Thinacy rolled in front of Kimcy and spread out protectively.  Tzelly couldn't stop the speeding bullet.  It hit Thinacy.
"Thinacy,-" Kimcy started, but Thinacy cut her off.
" 'Now' we're even," she said through gritted teeth.
Tzelly was furious.
"I'll shoot you, now, with Time-Go-Fast, stupid blue creature!"  she said, full of rage.
Thinacy flinched and closed her eyes, waiting for the worst.
She heard the sound of a shot...
Only seconds later, a terrible smell reached Thinacy's nose.
She slowly opened her eyes and lowered her arms.  She could move normally again!
Thinacy looked for the source of the smell.  There, at her feet, was a rotting chicken.
Chyta had thrown the chicken in front of Thinacy, to catch the bullet, with perfect timing and accuracy!
Now it was rotten, because time, for the chicken, at passed so fast.
"Well, there goes dinner,"  joked Thinacy.
Howling with anger, Tzelly, her gun with her, ran into the forest.
There was two moment's silence.
"I'm still hungry," said Thinacy shortly.

Friends- Chapter five

Chapter 5
Chyta becomes famous

Later, Chyta and her friends had run, panting, into the Forbidden Forest.
"Oh, man, now what?  I can barely see a thing!"  Kimcy complained.  She swiveled towards Thinacy.
"Um, Kimcy?"  Thinacy ventured doubtfully.  "When I first met you, you weren't wearing glasses, and you could see fine!"
Kimcy's delicate white face turned rather pink.  "Times change,"  she said, rather shortly.  "Now, Thinacy, I think it's time Chyta knew what we knew about her, which isn't much more than she knows about herself, but she should know it.  So, would you get out the book?"
"What was that?"  Thinacy scratched her head.
"Just get out the book, will you?"
Thinacy rummaged in her leather pouch, and took out a large book bigger than the pouch itself.
"No, that's not it,"  Thinacy said, scowling at the book before dropping it back in, making an impossible CLUNKING noise, as if the bottom of the pouch was a long way off, and had other things in it...
"Uh...  guys?"  Chyta was starting to feel rather uncomfortable around these mysterious lionesses.  "How did you-"
Thinacy cut her off.  "Later," she simply said.
"THE BOOK, Thinacy,"  Kimcy reminded her, none too gently.
"Where is it..."  Thinacy threw random things out of her pouch, like a rubber ducky, a pack of "Go fish" cards, and a 50-pound weight ("why is that in there?"  asked Thinacy)  that accidentally hit Chyta on the head, until finally finding ("Aha! Here it is!" she exclaimed) a huge, million-page (literally) book with a worn-out leather binding.
Though no doubt very old, the book was beautiful and rather magnificent.
Large golden-and-red letters titled the book:
"ETH KOBO FO DENGLES"

With the silver-and-blue subheading:
 "Eth Nichtollic Soevrin,
 Euvmol Rofu"
"What in the WORLD does that all mean?"  Chyta wondered, rubbing her smarting head.
"THE BOOK OF LEGENDS,  The Nichtollic Version, Volume Four,"  Thinacy translated.
"How did you-"  Thinacy cut Chyta off.
"I can read Nichtollic,"  She explained smoothly.
"Oh,"  Chyta said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.  "That explains a lot."
"Glad you think so," said Thinacy politely, completely missing the point.  "Who's going to read, Kimcy?"
"You,"  Kimcy said with an air of superiority.
"And why is that?"  Thinacy returned in the same tone, mimicking Kimcy.
"Because Chyta can't read, and I haven't  got my glasses,"  she retorted angrily.
"What story?"  asked Thinacy meekly.
"The one about Chyta, silly," Kimcy snapped.  "Look, just read, okay?"
"Ahem."  Thinacy cleared her throat.
" ' When the first Rainbow was made by...' blah, blah, blah'...and at the end of it was a pot of gold.  But in the pot of gold was a SunArmon creature, like a gray lioness with green eyes.  It lay among the gold pieces, with only 30 seconds to take in its surroundings, before disappearing to an unknown location'-"
"Ha!"  Interrupted Chyta.  "Unknown indeed!"
Thinacy glared at her before resuming to read..
" ' , never to be seen again.  Whether it has any siblings or look-alikes, relatives or family, is unknown-'" Thinacy slammed the book shut.
"That was no help!"  She wailed, frustrated.  "Sorry, Chyta, but I guess the rest of the world doesn't know any more than we do!"
"Ah, well.  Better keep moving then,"  said Chyta in a fake cheerful tone that hid her feelings inside:  bitter disappointment.

Friends- Chapter four

Chapter 4
Kimcy breaks her glasses

As soon as Thinacy was told the hilarious debut of why it was so funny (or, in Kimcy's opinion, bothersome, and a waste of a good plan), Thinacy groped in her pouch.  There was no dynamite left.
"A waste of three perfectly good sticks of dynamite!"   She moaned.
Chyta started laughing again.
"You used DYNAMITE?"  She  laughed.  "So THAT'S what that was.  Isn't that, like, a kind of BOMB?  You are SO FUNNY!"  More laughter.
"I dunno, she's very annoying at times," Kimcy remarked angrily.
They continued flying northwards, and they soon reached one of Cigam's beautiful beaches.
"Ah, a beach," Thinacy sighed with relief, flopping onto the warm sand.  "What do you say we... stay here for a while, Chyta?"
"Yeah, sure," Chyta said slowly.  "You go ahead and stay here while I find out who I am, why I'm here anyways, and how I was even born.  You know, parents or what."
She started to slip away into the nearby forest, and she would have completely done so if Kimcy hadn't said, "Wait for us.  We're coming with you."
"Excuse me?"  Chyta turned around.
"She said, 'we're coming with you',"  Thinacy repeated.
"What for?"  Challenged Chyta.
"Well, you can't go alone into the-" Kimcy gulped "Forbidden Forest!  You just can't."
"Can't I?"  Chyta narrowed her eyes.
"We're about as interested as you as you're interested in yourself, for one thing," reasoned Thinacy.
"That is seriously doubted by the creature standing in front of you," Chyta muttered.
"Anyways, I've read le-"  Kimcy stopped direction mid-word.  "Well, I've heard stories " She enunciated the word carefully "about a creature like you."
"Really?"  Anyone could tell that Chyta was not really interested.  "I'm not famous to anyone but, well, my food, and Belize, and Thessper, and the monkeys, and..."
"Yeah, right."  Thinacy rolled her eyes.
"Look, I can't really even read!"
"Blah, blah blah.  Seriously Chyta, I can take a hint.  You're lying."
"Am not!"
"Am too."
"Am not!"
"Am."
"Not!'
"Am!"
"NOT!"
"Am, am, AM!"
"Not, infinity! Ha!"
"Am, infinity... plus one."
"AAAARGH!!!!!" Chyta shrieked.
"Told you so," Sighed Kimcy.  "I told you that she was annoying!"
This was going a bit too far with Chyta; her nerves were at breaking point.
"HOW CAN WE TRAVEL TOGETHER IF YOU WON"T STOP BOTHERING ME CRAZILY LIKE THIS!!!"
Chyta was almost bursting with the effort not to make Thinacy pancakes with Kimcy syrup.
"I dunno."  Thinacy shrugged inevitably.
Chyta felt like she was about to explode, when...
Rumble, rumble.
"What is that?" asked Kimcy worriedly.
"It must be my stomach," Offered Chyta. "I haven't eaten since lunch."
"Yeah, that must be it."  Thinacy moaned.  "I'm hungry, too."
There it came again...  Rumble, rumble.
"That's not my stomach," said Chyta weakly.
A large timber wolf burst out of the bushes behind them.
"Aaaah!  I HATE TIMBER WOLVES!"  Screamed Thinacy.
The wolf growled, turning to Thinacy.
"Thinacy, I don't think he took that compliment-wise!"  Kimcy shouted.
"Oops,"  Thinacy mumbled.
The timber wolf looked at Thinacy, snarling and licking his lips, probably anticipating a meal of three delicious whatever-they-ares.
"W-w-wait a second,"  gasped Thinacy, recognition flooding into her already pale blue but now paler face. "Y-you're-r-re T-Tim aren't you?"  Stuttering like she did when she was scared.
"Yes that's right, 'Dinner,'"  said the wolf.
"Hey,"  said Chyta confusedly.  "Give me a moment to comprehend all of this.  A talking timber wolf?  Three flying lionesses?  A magical island surrounded by a forcefield?   This isn't making sense."
"Do you make sense?"  Tim sneered.  "Does she ,make sense?"  (he gestured to Thinacy.)  "In fact, does anyone here make sense?  No one has to make sense do they?"
"Good point,"  Kimcy mumbled.  "Thinacy never makes sense."
"Oh do I not?"  Thinacy folded her arms.
"Guys, this whole book doesn't make sense,"  interrupted Chyta.  "Don't ruin the storyline!"
In all of the contention Tim had sneaked up behind Thinacy and probably would have eaten her if he hadn't yelled "DINNERTIME!" as he lunged.
"No it's not dinnertime," was Thinacy's response, "And I think you're going the wrong way!"
She dodged out of the way, and Tim slammed into a large boulder behind her.
Chyta had climbed up a tree, and Kimcy had dug under a large rhododendron bush.  Thinacy flew on top of the boulder.
Tim looked around, dazed.   "Where are you little brats,"  he snarled.  "I'll find you sooner or later... 'Dinner'."
If this last remark was meant to enrage Thinacy, it didn't work.  It instead made her laugh, giving away her hiding place, which was fine for Tim.
"Losing a penny and finding a nickel,"  he gloated silently.
He pounced on Kimcy's bush accidentally instead of Thinacy's boulder.
Now, as you should know, Kimcy has a very quick temper and thought this 'last remark' was directed at her.
When Tim pounced, she thought of it as proof.
They tumbled around for a while.
Tim realized that Kimcy wasn't Thinacy, but he knew that Kimcy was the larger and fatter of the three, and he wasn't going to give up a meal this "tasty".
Finally, as a last resort,  Tim stole Kimcy's glasses and started running.
"YOU GET BACK HERE WITH MY GLASSES!  Oh that creep, now I can't even see him!"  She shrieked.
When Tim passed by Chyta's tree, she pounced on him and grabbed Kimcy's glasses back, rushing to Kimcy's side and returning the stolen essentials.
"Good-bye,"  she said frantically,  "excuse me for leaving so soon, but I'd rather not be eaten by a certain timber wolfish monstrosity present-!"  And with that, she rushed off, Tim on her heels.
Kimcy rushed to Thinacy, whispering a plan in her ear.  Thinacy nodded.
Unfortunately, Kimcy's glasses fell off in the process.
"Hey, little snack, my tasty victual, will you plea-"  Tim didn't get any farther in his composition of a flattering (in an I'm-going-to-eat-you sort of way) paragraph to Chyta, who was currently being chased, because Thinacy started pounding him into the ground.
Of course, angering and/or humiliating Thinacy, or she witnesses you doing one to any of her friends, it can be likened to shouting in her ear with a microphone:  "Hello!  Please rearrange my face!"
Tim soon started dreaming of  eating tasty, delectable candies in the form of pale blue, smoky gray and creamy white flying lionesses, on a cake shaped like glasses.  Sadly, he fell on Kimcy's glasses, and they were soon smashed.

Friends- Chapter three

Chapter  3:
Thinacy plays with dynamite

Thinacy quickly rolled over in thin air, and not a moment too soon.  A helicopter had been zooming straight a her!
"Not good, not GOOD," she gasped.  "It's those helicopters again!"
Kimcy frantically turned to Chyta.
"This is all your fault, Chyta, with your stupid 'get us out of here' spell!"  She yelled hastily in her anger.
"You ASKED for it, Kimcy!"  Chyta responded hotly, glaring at her.
"We can't fight," Said Thinacy desperately.  "We mustn't, not now!"
They paused, considering the dangers that they were already in.
Why add to this confusion? Kimcy thought.
Oh, how did I let myself get into this? Thought Chyta.
"All right," They called together, over the frightful whirring noise that the helicopters made.
"I have a plan," said Kimcy, "But we all have to do it together or it won't work!  Now, this is my plan..."
She whispered something in their ears, but Thinacy didn't hear properly.  When Kimcy finished, they both nodded.

Kimcy's plan was this:
They would tease the helicopters to the center of the sky, and at the last moment, they would fly out from in between the helicopters when their guns were about to fire, and, by the time they noticed, it would be too late.  The helicopters would destroy themselves!
It was an excellent plan, but Thinacy only knew that she was supposed to trick them to the center, and not even that they were not supposed to hurt them, and only let them hurt themselves!   And this was the plan's undoing.

Each took charge of one helicopter and distracted it, lulling them to the center of the sky.
"Nyah, nyah, nah nah, nyah," sung Chyta, flying lazily in front of her helicopter, towards the center.
To trick hers, Kimcy was making silly faces.
For hers, Thinacy was... hacking with an axe?!
"Thinacy, didn't I tell you that we weren't supposed to do that?"  Kimcy shrieked in Thinacy's direction.
"Oh.  Sorry."  Thinacy dropped the axe.
The helicopters had, by now, all been directed into the center of the sky.  Thinacy, naturally, panicked.  She thought Kimcy and Chyta were about to get killed!  Just as the helicopter's guns were trained on Kimcy and Chyta, she pulled something out of her leather sack...
"Ready?"  Said Kimcy, smirking.  Chyta nodded.   "G-"  But she got no farther.
BAM!!!
There was a cloud of smoke, and pieces of green helicopter steel went flying down to the island, bouncing off the barrier.
"Thinacy?"  Kimcy asked, her voice dangerously calm.  "Just what are you doing?"
Chyta stared at Thinacy, dumbfounded, stunned into silence.
"Blowing up helicopters," answered Thinacy casually.
BAM!!!
Another cloud of smoke, more helicopter fragments.                                                                                Kimcy took a closer look.  She saw the word DYNAMITE on a burning stick as Thinacy threw it.
BAM!!!
"THINACY!!!"  Screeched Kimcy furiously, among more smoke and pieces of green helicopter.
Chyta couldn't help laughing.  She rolled over with mirth.
"What?"  Thinacy didn't get it.

Friends- Chapter two

Chapter 2
Chyta has some uninvited party guests

Cake splattered all over Chyta's face.
Belize just sat there, looking stunned.
Thessper slunk out of sight, hissing.
Laying in front of them, in the now spoiled cake, lay two flying lionesses, rather similar to Chyta.

The first was a cream color, the other was a sky-blue color.
The cream colored one had glasses, and the blue one had a leather pouch covered with beads.  Chyta supposed that she had decorated it herself.   The beads were the same color as a flower right after a rainstorm: beautiful.
The cream colored flying lioness groaned because her glasses were covered with coconut frosting, and the blue one licked the cake off of her own face, laughing.
Belize recovered from her shock.  She usually let Chyta and Thessper do the talking, but when she was angry, her tiger temper got the better of her.
"NOW LOOK WHAT YOU DID!" she roared, while the lionesses cringed at this unexpected turn of events.
"Calm down, Belize," soothed Chyta.  "Your yelling is waking up the whole forest!  It's Saturday, you know, and the monkeys especially like to sleep in."
Sure enough,  monkeys began angrily poking weary heads out of the forest, and the snakes and even other tigers got up to see what all the commotion was about.
"Go back to bed, it'sssss nothing," Thessper assured them.
"Alright, now about you two troublemakers," Chyta said, turning to the flying lionesses.  She folded her arms, and said, trying to control her temper, in a quavery voice: "Explain yourselves."
"We-ll-l," began the cream colored one, "We were lost, because Thinacy here" (she gestured at the blue one with dislike) "tried to teleport us to food, and we ran into those  helicopters up there" (she pointed to the sky where three helicopters were flying) "or, rather, they ran into us, so Thinacy tried again, and we landed splat! in your birthday cake- wait, how old are you?" she asked.
"Well then, if you must know, I'm now 152," grumbled Chyta.
Thinacy's mouth dropped open.
"What's your name?" the cream one asked.
"Chyta," Chyta said.  "Yours?"
"Kimcy," offered the cream colored one.
"Sorry we spoiled your cake," said Thinacy.  "It looks... delicious!"  She hovered over the mess of cake.
"We'll be going now," Kimcy said firmly.  She grabbed Thinacy's paw and flew upwards.
Bong!!
She fell back down.
"Sorry, Kimcy," she said, full of uncontrollable laughter,"but this island is surrounded by a barrier!"            "Isn't there some sort of spell that can get us out of here?"  Thinacy complained.
Chyta thought awhile.  I do know a simple spell, she thought.  She may take it literally, though.  She may be offended, said the negative voice in her head.  She shook it.
"Yes," she grinned finally, "but I need three to do it."
"Okay," Kimcy grumbled eventually.
"First, we close our eyes and imagine," said Chyta, "A simple symbol.  Got it?"  They nodded.
"Alright, now we all have to draw our symbols in the dirt. Ready? Set? Go."
She drew a star.  Kimcy drew a diamond, and Thinacy drew a heart.
"Now we close our eyes again.  Focus on your symbol, while I say the spell,"  Chyta said finally.

She cleared her throat and said: "GET US OUT OF HERE!"
They found themselves above the island.  But they looked at their tails, and there, instead of a tassel, was their symbol.
" 'Get us out of here?' "  Kimcy was puzzled.
"Look, I didn't make it up!"  Said Chyta.  But her words were cut off short as she suddenly stared behind an astonished Thinacy, looking pale.  "Look out, Thinacy!"

Friends- Chapter one

Chapter 1:
Meet Chyta

Yawn,"  Chyta stretched, picking up a list, which said:
My Birthday List
and checked off the first item," Wake up".
Her two best friends, Belize, the Bengal tiger, and Thessper, the Boa Constrictor, also yawned.
Thessper slept curled around one part of the bed, and Belize slept at the foot.
"What is next on my very lazy list of things to do?"  She asked herself, checking.  She couldn't read Belize's cursive.
 Thessper looked at her.
"Wasssssn't it exxxcersssize?" He hissed.
"Ah yes, exercise.  What kind?"
Chyta thought a bit.
"Oh yeah, flying."
She unfolded her wings and flew around her island, her blue-grey hair whipping her face.
Chyta stopped, and rested on a palm tree.  "Boy, that was fun," she laughed.
She checked off  "Exercise."
She looked at her list, which said, translated again by Thessper, "Make a birthday cake".
"Okay", she said,  rubbing her paws in anticipation.
Chyta washed her paws at the big waterfall, and with her friends' help collected her ingredients:
Peacock eggs,
Sea salt,
Tropical flours,
Coconuts,
Coconut milk,
Pineapple,
Roses,
Coconut cream,
Cocoa,
Fresh cacao chocolate,
Diet baking soda (Chyta was very firm about her sugar level)
Baking magic powder,
Sugar cane,
and a little palm leaf.
And before any of them knew it, there was a lovely 3 layer chocolate cake with coconut frosting, topped with roses, pineapple, and the little bit of palm leaf sitting before them.

Chyta licked her lips and set it down to cool, marking off  "Make a birthday cake".
She checked her list again.  It was, translated, "Eat lunch".
Belize and Chyta creeped into the small forest to their left, and caught toucans for both, although Thessper wanted mice and eggs.
"Fried bird a la mood," Chyta joked, roasting it.
They ate them with tropical dressing, and checked off "Eat lunch".
Chyta looked at her list again.  Next was to "Have birthday party".
She looked at her presents to herself, wrapped in a pile to her right, and her presents from Belize and Thessper, to her left.
"I'll open them after cake," she decided.
Belize and Thessper sang:
"Happy birthday to you,
You're 152,
Happy birthday, dear Chyta-"
Chyta picked up her cake, opening her mouth-
"Happy birthday to..."
SPLAT!!
